Help forge a global movement to protect our planet. Volunteers lead grassroots efforts in their communities to protect the environment and strengthen understanding of environmental issues. They teach environmental awareness in elementary and secondary schools and to youth groups and community organizations, empowering communities to make their own decisions about how to protect and conserve the local environment. Volunteers also address environmental degradation by promoting sustainable use of natural resources.

If you choose Environment, take 3 courses (9 credit hours) from one of the following areas:

  • Other (as approved)

Build 50 hours of related field experience through an activity such as:

  • Complete an approved internship in the areas of environmental sciences, agricultural sciences, sustainability outreach, and communication
  • Complete an approved supervised classroom teaching program as required by your degree program
  • Participate in an environment, conservation, or sustainability-focused study abroad experience
  • Serve as a volunteer or intern for the campus Sustainability program
  • Serve as a volunteer in the Full Circle Food Pantry
  • Serve as a volunteer for the Razorback Food Recovery program
  • Serve as a volunteer in the Razorback Recycling program
  • Other related activity coordinated by the Volunteer Action Center and approved in advance by the PC Prep coordinator/advisor

The applicant must provide verifiable evidence of this activity. This may include a Service Transcript from the Volunteer Action Center or from the agency where the volunteer action occurred.
